Description

Company How WavX prices a project

WavX has no rate card, because every build is custom. Each project is quoted after a free consultation, as fixed price, time and materials, or a hybrid. Before that, three free calculators give a planning range in rupees from a published cost model: a base figure for the type of build, plus features, times a small set of multipliers.

The planning ranges

All figures are planning ranges in Indian rupees. Each base figure is the starting point for one type of build, before features and multipliers.

App cost calculator

Simple app

Medium app

Complex app

Software cost estimator

₹2,50,000

RAG assistant on your own data

₹3,50,000

AI agent or automation

₹5,00,000

Business websites are not in these three models. The web development page gives its own indicative starting figure of around ₹50,000 for a business website.

What moves the figure up or down

The model adds a fixed amount for each feature, then multiplies.

Features

Each adds a fixed amount: from ₹25,000 (push notifications) to ₹2,00,000 (a companion mobile app)

App platform

Cross-platform ×1.0, one native platform ×0.85, both native platforms ×1.6

Software scale

Small ×1.0, growing ×1.3, large or enterprise ×1.7

Design level (apps and software)

Standard ×1.0, custom UI/UX ×1.25, premium or branded ×1.5

AI data

No custom data ×1.0, documents ×1.25, live systems and APIs ×1.5

A worked example from the software cost estimator: a custom web application (₹4,50,000) with roles and permissions (₹60,000) and an admin panel (₹90,000) comes to ₹6,00,000. At small scale (×1.0) with custom design (×1.25) the subtotal is ₹7,50,000. The planning range is that subtotal ×0.85 to ×1.25: ₹6,37,500 to ₹9,37,500.

A real quote moves for reasons the model cannot see: how many integrations there are and how well documented they are, how much existing data has to be migrated, and how settled the requirements are.

Timelines and maintenance

The cost model ties a delivery band to the subtotal: under ₹3,00,000, 3–6 weeks; under ₹6,00,000, 6–10 weeks; above that, 10–16 weeks. The app and software calculators show their own, longer bands for larger builds. The methodology page lists all three.

Maintenance after launch is planned at 15–25% of the build cost per year, the band published in the app maintenance cost guide .

What the figures leave out

The model prices the build only. It has no line for:

hosting and cloud infrastructure

third-party services such as payment gateways and SMS, and usage-based AI model costs

maintenance after the build, which is planned separately as above

taxes

Ask for each of these to be stated in your quote. The payment schedule is also set in the proposal; WavX does not publish one.

When custom is the wrong purchase

If an off-the-shelf product already does what you need, it will cost less than any figure on this page. The guide to build versus buy covers that decision. Custom software earns its price when it has to fit a workflow, hold data or connect systems that a standard product cannot.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website, app or custom software cost?

It depends on scope, because every build is custom. After a free consultation we share a customised quote with fixed-price, time-and-materials or hybrid options. For a planning range before that, use the app cost calculator, the software cost estimator or the AI cost calculator.

Is the calculator figure a quote?

No. It is a planning range from a simple model: a base figure, plus the features you select, times a few multipliers. A quote is written after we understand your scope, and it can be higher or lower than the range.

Why is the range so wide?

The range runs from 15% below the model's subtotal to 25% above it. The same spread is applied to every estimate. A model cannot see your integrations, your existing data or how settled your requirements are, and the range is there so that nobody reads a single number as a price.

What does maintenance cost after launch?

As a planning range, 15–25% of the build cost per year. The app maintenance cost guide explains what that covers. Hosting and third-party services are usually billed separately.

Can I see prices in dollars or another currency?

The model is in Indian rupees. Where the site shows another currency, it is an approximate conversion at a recent exchange rate, and it is labelled as one. Quotes are built in rupees.
